Sapphire Radeon HD 5450
#1
Just a quick question as to what should be possible with my graphics card. Whenever I use it I can't even get a solid 60FPS at native res. The frame rate goes from 40-60FPS. I've tried several games, Final Fantasy X, XII, SMT Digital Devil Saga, Persona 4 and not have been 60FPS While I know this graphics card isn't capable of a lot I figured it would at least pull 60FPS at native res or maybe even up to 2x res. Is there anything I could do to get put a 60FPS or should I just work on getting a new graphics card? I can post settings if need be. I also finally realized that this is off topic section. I noticed Hardware and started typing.

PCSX2 1.0.0.r5350
Host Machine Init:
Operating System = Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Physical RAM = 8171 MB
CPU name = AMD FX™-4170 Quad-Core Processor
Vendor/Model = AuthenticAMD (stepping 02)
CPU speed = 4.514 ghz (4 logical threads)

FFX and FFXII are able to reach 60 FPS at 2x and native res with that video card, respectively. You should monitor GPU usage when games are running and see if its clock speed is at max.

the best you can do is use native resolution for best performance but want to upscale like native 2x above need better graphic card

Those games should run 60fps on native with that hardware. Are you sure you are running in HW mode, DX10?

It says the GPU usage is 100% and other times it just says 0% without change, so something still seems like it's wrong. I can run some games in Dolphin at 2.5x-3x (very few games at 3x) res and maintain full FPS, I do know they're completely different in terms of emulation but it may give an idea to those who are familiar with both emulators. It doesn't give me the option for DX10 in HW mode. I get DX9 or DX11. This card says it supports DX11 but it seems pretty buggy in trying to do so. So i'll do a little more messing about and see if I can get some better results.

Here are my plugins

Windows 6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1 1.0)
ATI Radeon HD 5450 (8.17.10.1140)
Binding PAD: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\lilypad-r5350.dll
Binding SPU2: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\spu2-x-r5350.dll
Binding CDVD: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\cdvdGigaherz.dll
Binding USB: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\USBnull.dll
Binding FW: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\FWnull.dll
Binding DEV9: C:\Program Files (x86)\PCSX2 1.0.0\Plugins\DEV9null.dll

I do plan on upgrading the GPU in the future, though it's still some time away and got impatient in waiting for it so I figured I'd ask if there was something I was doing wrong. I plan on getting a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 here sometime soon.
