Save states not taking?
#1
Hi there

Using the latest PCSX2 0.9.7 beta.

So sometimes F1 and F3 will save and load states like they're supposed to. Then sometimes they just don't. The console doesn't seem to recognize anything, and the buttons don't do anything until I suspend and then resume the game. Then they work fine, and the console looks as you'd expect it to and everything.

Any idea on how I can make it so the buttons don't stop working suddenly? This a bug in the beta?

Anything would be helpful, thanks

(at this point F1 and F3 don't do anything at all, but F2 will still apparently change the state number!)

Dont put your trust too much on savestates they are unstable and sometimes tends to corrupt memory card save's or crash the emu

Are you mashing saving and loading? States are not supposed to be saved and loaded 3 times per second or something, you need to give it some time to properly save then load.

oh so i'm not the only one with this problem XD
happened to me too it sometimes just does not want to save or load but if I save/load from the savestate menu it works.

Probably focus lost on the GS window, happened to me a couple times where only suspend/resume would work again but doesn't happen if all PCSX2 windows and not only the GS one are still on focus (I mean like the other windows minimized or something Tongue)

No, I don't mash save states or anything. I usually only do it at, say, the very beginning of a battle or something (so I don't have to go through dialogues and whatnot again if I die.) But even if save states can screw with the emulation and corrupt saves, it doesn't explain why the emulator itself would stop responding, does it?

I thought it may have been a focus issue too, but the fact that it recognizes F2 to change the state number seems at odds with that theory. And I'm not tabbing all over the place or anything. Turns out the escape key doesn't work, either! I have to click X instead.

That's pretty weird, are you using Lilypad and if yes are you using the version included in the 0.9.7 pack?

Yep, I'm using the LilyPad that came with the beta download (svn 0.10.0 r2930) with a USB gamepad.
