I never dared to touch it. By "it", I mean overclocking. I was (and still am) scared of screwing up and bricking the whole system.

Also, I hope that this log has something important in it to help you uncover the problem. It's the system log after starting the game, but not playing it.

Same, but after a crash, please

While this isn't after the crash, this is what appears after I start the game. I hope it helps.

Driver version you using? If 12.11 beta, OS may crash completely, not important what you doing, playing very demanding game or watching videos. Smile

Interesting. If it happens to you, please let me know - maybe we'll find a solution.

Tested, SVN 5434.SSE4 ,DX11,default speedhacks. No problems. Noticed a bit of instability during loading of battles ...mb half second freeze with GRRR! sound Smile. I don't remember such freezes on older builds. Anyways ,no crashes, cleared 2 floors plus fight with boss Smile
From description of problem i can see was crash similar to mine ,soft reset not helping, etc. My memory is fine,PSU too.
I can only suggest to experiment with drivers (if you want) unfortunately AMD drivers very unstable lately. If you experienced gamer who using ATI software i think you know how to do clean install of driver .

Agh, I'm frustrated like you wouldn't believe. I still haven't found a solution. For the sake of trying everything, I'll copy the memory card with my save on it, transfer it to an older build of the emulator and give it a try tomorrow. Hopefully, this will work.

But my instincts tell me this is related to the graphics card somehow, yet I don't know how to run a diagnostic test for it. I guess that I'll just have to find a way somehow.

Also, I gave it one last try less than an hour ago. All worked fine for just enough time to get into the castle and begin the fight with Shadow Chie before my computer crashed AGAIN. Just to remind you, I was running a CPU check at the same time, monitoring the temps and usage of each core. Everything was smooth - no issues, no overheating. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, checking the system log was pointless. Nothing out of the ordinary appeared, Error and Critical events aside, since those appear whenever the system is shut down by force (which is what I have to do after the game crashes my computer).

I'm beginning to feel hopeless. It's a goddamn computer, for hell's sake. It was created by humans, just like you and me. And yet, NO ONE can find a solution to this. It's pissing me off.

So, my game plan is as follows. I'll start by looking around for an older version of the Catalyst driver (if it even exists, and if I can't find one, it'd help if you could point me in the right direction). If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll try an older version of the emulator. If nothing else works, I'll simply buy a hard copy of the game and run it on my computer. If that fails as well, I'll go clean up my slowly dying (fat) PS2 catching dust on a shelf in my basement.

Can be "oops sorry, driver was successfully recovered" during emulation or crash on latest drivers Smile
So... DriverSweeper and any other driver. You can find old drivers on AMD site. I think something between 12.6 and 12.10 can do the trick(but its my guess) Start from 12.6 ,then 12.7 beta ,12.8. Without ati catalyst control center.Install only driver and OpenCL if you need it,nothing more. Without any "acceleration" stuff.
I hope this can solve your problem Smile

Since no one has asked. have you tried running another game in PCSX2 to see if your computer crashes? instead of just jumping to a driver problem. How about just a pc game while turning everything to max? Broaden your problems instead of just running 1 thing you know already messes up. See if anything else crashes your computer. I had this issue with a older computer I built. It wasn't a driver issue for me. My motherboard didn't like the brand of video cards I had in it.
MOBO - GIGABYTE X570 AORUS MASTER
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
RAM - 32 Gigs DDR4
HDD - To many to note. NVEM, SSD and HDD
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1070
OS- Windows 10
