my specs are 2.40 ghz intel core 2 CPU 6600 2gb of DDR3 RAM and a nVIDIA 7950 gt (dont judge. lol)
could someone help me, from start to finish in setting up this emulator? id looove to hear from you all

Setting up pcsx2 is not hard at all. What is hard is to guess what game or games you're trying to run and the setting you're using to run the games.

lets say
Crash Bandicoot - The Wrath of Cortex SLUS 20238 U PS2 Playable
0.9.6 (pulled that off the compatibility list)
that game, and ive messed with the settings for quite awhile and cant exactly get them right
(id say 20-43 FPS is not "exactly right")

Looks fine considering I get about 40-50 with my C2D clocked at 3,6 Ghz. Your CPU is slow for PCSX2, you need a processor above 3 Ghz for most game to play at good speeds. Plus you picked a demanding game there, others perform better.

u don't need that much RAM
DDR2 2GB should enough
but sure u need decent CPU, and i agree with Bositman, others game would played better with those specs of yours.

Should be able to get decent speed using some speedhacks, I haven't try it for a while but last I remember getting 80-100% speed with minor speedhacks enabled.

And that would be decent speed,in your condition, not full speed.Turn minor speedhacks on and tick off all the checkbox in GSdx,enable native.

Ya, most rpg-like games I can get near 80-100% on my laptop, with speedhacks and native resolution. Some I can increase the resolution. Obviously I have a CPU bottleneck as well, so maybe you should tweak your speedhacks/or try adjusting the compiler...I remember seeing awhile back that some games like none instead of nearest..That might only be to get past bugged areas though

well, that still brings the issue of the emulator hates my computer and seems to find every damn reason not to want to work in the first place. the only version i did end up getting to work had no speed hacks. that was my first thought : /

Did you follow the guide to set it up? You shouldn't have that many problems getting the emulator to run, are you sure you did it correctly?
