Should I get the PS2 GTA games for PCSX2 or get the PC versions ?

I have a fairly powerful PC that I can run the PS2 GTA games at full speed but I can also run the the PC versions well too. I played some of the GTA games on my PS2 a long time ago. Back in the day the the PC versions looked alot better cause of the increase of the res. But I'm capable of running these games at high res too with PCSX2. So which platform should I play them on and why ?

Right of fthe top of my head maybe one of the reasons for me would be able to use a dualshock2. These games just seem to lend themselves better using the dualshock/or any controller. I know you can configure a controller with the PC versions sometimes but often I find it's a hit or miss.

But what about the graphics think they will be just as good through the PCSX2 or will the PC versions still have better graphics ?

If your pc can able to exceed graphics upto 3x then simply use your ps2 cd.

The PC Versions have a lot of improvments over the Console versions especially SA, like improved textures, lightning, draw distance, shadows and so on.
But if you already own the PS2 versions and like playing with Pad just give it a try.
I may opinion aiming with Pad just sucks especially for 3/VC, some Missions are almost impossible (like Zerro in SA), PC is way better there but this is up to you.

Besides the graphics and other stuff I found it a pain to setup my wireless xbox 360 control for the pc version. pcsx2 is super easy to set up the control

Go for the PC version. Easier to run, better options, better controls, modability, online mods, faster loading/saving times Tongue2

Id say get the XBOX versions of GTA III and Vice City, they are still the best looking versions of the game and run well on the 360 (make sure you turn off trails though, it looks terrible and kills the framerate). They also have modern gas/break controls as they are mapped to the triggers.

As for SA, its more complicated, the XBOX version is an improvement over the PS2 but its nowhere near what it couldve been, the controls however are by far the best. The PC version looks stunning but is buggy and however much I try I cant get it to control like the XBOX version. The PC version also now supports widescreen so its overall the version Id go for.
