Any idea what's causing it? Tried disabling all speed hacks and stuff, no change. It was fine a little while ago. Anything I can twiddle with in the config to make it stop skipping?

PC specs:
3.01ghz Dual Core processor, 4gb ram and nVidia 8800 GTS 640mb.

you may use "time stretching" in spu2x.
YOu will lose sound sync, but avoid skips
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go
