Slow working PCSX2
#1
Hi. I'm new on this forum, so sorry if I took bad section. I have big problem with PCSX2 0.9.7. It works very slow, i have 60FPS only in menus, when I start playing, I have 20FPS. Sound is very bad, graphic like bullet-time. I think games should work good on my computer. I tried Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Soul Calibur 3, Tekken 5. Every game works bad.

My computer configuration:

Motherboard: Asus M3A78-EMH
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 5600+ (2.9GHz)
RAM Memory: Kingston 2x1 GB DDR2 800MHz
Graphic Card: Sapphire Radeon HD5750 (512MB)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (320 GB)
Power Suply: Corsair CX430
System: Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3
Monitor: LG Flatron W2042S (20")

Could you help me to configure PCSX2 or do something to work faster? Unsure

I'm pretty sure you mean 2.9GHZ not 2.9MHZ. Try cranking up the speedhacks. Post your PCSX2 settings Plugin settings

Aren't those games like Demanding, i know Tekken 5 is demanding Have you tried lowering your VU cycle stealing? And Sliding the EE down to two? And hmm Have you tried Native?

You can try using the superVU recompiler and changing the sound plugin to ZeroSPU2, but I'm afraid the CPU just isn't fast enough for this demanding games.

If you use the progressive mode in Soul Calibur 3 (hold triangle+cross or triangle+circle as the game is starting) you may get a speedup for it.

@Ashvanale
I lowed VU cycle stealing and EE, it works better, i've got about 29fps now.. I can't set native resolution, I can't change any options in GSdx. When I set other values and aply them, they don't saving. I mean when I open GSdx options again, i see always that settings I sent you in screenshot. -.-

@Shadow Lady
I used superVU recompiler and ZeroSPU2 plugin, games are now stabble (before I had 15-30, now I have always 25-29). So, what games will run good on this CPU? And what processor speed will be good for games that i wrote in 1st post? (I can overclock cpu if it's needed)

P.S. In youtube i saw many Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Soul Calibur 3 films. People with worst configuration that mine played in full speed. How is this possible?.

It's because they capture the video frame by frame, Eventhough IN real Time, It';s really slow for the players.

Man you are mostly CPU bottlenecked, some of the titles you said are no way to work good on a 5600+ like Tekken 5 & Soul Calibur 3.
It doesn't even work in a stock clocked i7 perfectly.

Tekken 5 runs best at maximum speedhacks exculding the one that breaks it and VU cycle stealing at 2. Full speed on most stages on a Q6600 2.4GHZ

Ohh. I changing some options in my PCSX2 and Soul Calibur 3 works much better than MK:A. ; o I've got 55~60 fps in SC3, 30-35 in MK3. So thanks everyone for help. ; )

P.S. Can you help me to delete something? I have vertical black & white lines, only in SC3. Everything You can see in screenshot: http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/6678/jpgqm.jpg
What to do with this?
