Somewhat laggy God of War II
#1
Here are my computer's specs:

Operating System: MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 235 Regor 45nm Technology
RAM: 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 334MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard: eMachines MCP61PM-GM (CPU 1)
Graphics: HP x20LED (1600x900@60Hz) ATI Radeon HD 5670
Hard Drives: 195GB Western Digital WDC WD2000BB-00GUC0 ATA Device (PATA)
488GB Western Digital WDC WD50 00AAVS-00G9B SCSI Disk Device (ATA)

I'm trying to get God of War II to run completely smoothly on my PC. I'm up to about 40-50 fps maximum right now - which is with a bunch of speedhacks running, too. I saw on youtube a few people with the same or lower specs as I running at a solid 60fps and I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight as to how I could do the same on mine.

Right now I have EE Cyclerate on 3 and VU Cycle Stealing on 2. (Any lower on these two settings and the game slows even lower, to about 20-30 fps or so.)

I don't have any Game Fixes enabled at the moment. I've tried a few, but not all of them.

Any suggestions?

*what CPU speed??GOW2 needs a lot of CPU power you know and having a AMD is a real laggy.
*have you tried the buildbot edition?(MTVU function)

Dont forget to enable MTVU hack option in latest Pcsx2 Svn above, that can help to gain FPS in that game. Other option is you have to overclock your cpu a bit around 3.4-3.6ghz
Notebook ASUS A43TA|CPU AMD Llano APU A6-3400m Triple core (1 core disable) OC to 2.6+Ghz|GPU CF|HD 6520 400Mhz/667Mhz iGPU|HD6650M OC 780Mhz/985Mhz dGPU|RAM 8GB DDR3 1333|Windows 7 Ultimate Sp.1 x64 bit.
>> Emulation speed differs for each game. There will be some you can run fast easily, but others will simply require more powerfull hardware <<.

All right, with a combination of upgrading my PCSX2 and enabling the MTVU hack and also changing the GSDx plugin to Direct3D11 (was at Direct3D9) has improved my framerate significantly, as good as it's going to be, it looks like. Thanks for the help!
