Speed Problems
#1
I hope you guys can help me:
Pc Specifications first:
Intel Core 2 quad Q8200 @2,3ghz
Windows Vista
2gig DDR2 Ram
Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

I tried playing Devil may cry 2 with GSDx SSSE3 DX10 version at 1280x960 and got 22 frames. With VU skip it raises to 34-37 frames but is naturally somwhat laggy.
What strikes me as odd is that no speedhack option changes my speed. No matter what I do the speed stays the same... -Also reducing resolution doesn't change anything AND changing to DX9 SPEEDS UP the hole thing Blink what the hell? Isn`t DX 10 mode supposed to be faster?

Don't know maybe this is normal but if somebody has a suggestion what I could try I would really apprciate it!!

Thanks in advance!

Try software mode 3/4 SW Thread for your quadcore cpu with gsdx v890/594 0.1.14, seems this game give your cpu and grapich card a bottleneck. I think this is pcsx2 and gsdx fault.

hm no sadly that chances didn't help.... But thanks anyway. I will play around a bit, maybe I find something.

Edit: I just saw that this mode slows in -game- sequences down to 20 frames even with vu skip so I changed back to HW render

Check your cpu running at task manager. Double check your cpu config make sure MTGS ON, try speed hacks to off/default first and the others hacks on. Advance option to default first. Did you try pcsx2 r.720 a latest beta?

2.3GHZ is not too fast.
Also enable the NATIVE option in GSdx and disable texture filtering.
Enable the speed hacks one by one and keep the advanced options at default.
You can also try ZeroGS as you have a powerful graphics card.

So did as you asked an checked everithing: all 4 cores are working with around 90% load when ingame after changing to 3 threads. MTGS is on. Version of gdsx plugin reads exactly "GSDx 890 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.14".
But i didnt try the latest beta but maybe will if nothing else works.
And speed still is far worse with SW mode in comparison to HW mode.... Sad

Edit: Thx redlof I'm sure to try that! ^^

Its a common thing with emulators that run with plugins. You have to try out every other possibility when you have a decent system and bad framerate.
