Good to know, thanks.
i have question about PCSX2 and how it use instructions :
other plugins ( SPU2-X ) do they use instructions ? and can i manually chose the instruction why can't GSDX chose the right instruction ( highest available ) automatically ( but because of somehow exprimental AVX instruction this may cause problems ) if not and why not to make ( like AVX instruction we need to discuss this more often ) the unsupported instruction cannot be chosen in plugin/BIOS selector

I don't see any performance difference between 3 instruction set mode. Perhaps it is too small to be noticable.

Not quite, while "the bigger number, the better/faster" applies this depends on the game and scene playing. Most of the time the difference between SSSE3 and SSE2 is minimal, SSE4.1 can be a bigger impact but still depends a lot on the game and scene you're trying.

SPU2-X uses SSE2.
My guess for GSDX is since the speedup from using S3E3+ is so small using runtime checks would just make it slower. |
