Star Wars: Battlefront Speedup/Fix

Has anyone else tried getting the battlefront series to work? For me, battlefront works great during the menus and loading screen. Then, when the actual gameplay starts, the fps drops to 1-3 fps and all I see is a black screen.

I'm running PCSX2 fully up-to-date and have a i5 2.3 GHz sandy bridge 13" macbook pro with intel HD 3000 graphics card and Lion.

I've read that the GSDX graphics fixes this issue, but since we mac users aren't as lucky, has anyone gotten around this issue?

Unfortunately I don't think there's any way currently to speedup that game in ZeroGS/ZZogl.
