Heck, push the EE slider all the way. It shouldn't hurt anything.

Try using the latest stable (1.2.1). It has some optimization which should increase the performance (but unsure if this will affect gsdx or only the core).

I would suggest another test if that doesn't help:
Open pcsx2_vm.ini in the ini-Folder.
Set the line
Code:
FramerateNTSC=59.94

to

Code:
FramerateNTSC=29.97

After booting the game press [Tab]-Key. What happens?

First off, I tried using the stable version, it doesn't change anything, in fact the stable version seems a little slower...

I also tried changing 59.94 to 29.97, it does make the game run faster at some point, but only when the game was running fast to begin with, the places where the game went down to 50 or less, it still is at that...

And yes I figured you meant EE cycle 2 and not 1;-)

Hehe you are right, have been using the emulator for the last 11 years, I was one of the early adoptors hahaLaugh but it's always nice to get some help towards some of the more difficult emulated games...

It however doesn't really effect the game much, in fact it's pretty much the same...

It just seems like software mode in this game is ULTRA demanding.

As a random thing to try - did you try OpenGL HW mode? Prolly not any better, maybe worse, but worth a shot.

or openGL(software) ?

Probably you need some overclocking...

Older versions should be less demanding... you might want to try 0.9.8...

Yeah it is, but it's only in software mode I get the real graphics, without any hickups, well except FPS...

I tried OpenGL I must honestly say I have almost completely forgot about OpenGL, never use it, well I tried, it didn't even show the screen, it was black, the sound was there, but no screen. OpenGL in software mode is just like Direct3D11 in software mode...

I wouldn't go back that far, maybe 1.0.0

I have the feeling there was not much changing between 1.2 and 1.0 while the difference between 0.9.8 and 1.0 was enormous.

The game is almost broken at 0.9.8, it doesn't play that well, or even well at all...

Mostly same, and somewhat like with 0.9.8, not better - worse...

I run the game fine in software modem My CPU being 700mhz faster than yours is probably helping with that. With uncapping the FPS limit I get 85fps inside a house.

Probably. The base STP of your CPUs are 2028(yours), 2269(his). Yours with overclock would be around 2400.
