Other than that some games require a strong GPU regardless of resolution anyway.

GT 430 will be restricted to use native resolution in a lot of games, GTS 250/450 would be much better yet not so costly (a GT 450 even better if available instead of that 430 Tongue2).

Thanks, Shadow Lady. That gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect for what I ordered.

I did a lot of shopping around and ended up finding a new in box Galaxy GTX460 for about 95 USD off of ebay, which is less than what I was considering paying for a GTS 450 (would've paid $130 for one with a factory OC).

any game that is codded is just added to with international versions. As far as performance it shouldn't change at all. the core of the game is still the same thing.

I know Odin Sphere, for one, differs in performance between regions. The PAL version runs significantly better on PS2. I don't know how much that carries over when emulating, though.

just curious if GoW 1/2 will run on my brother's PC
pentium D 930
2gb ram
GF 8600GT 256mb

would be nice to get 60FPS Tongue ...somehow

Well, you probably won't get 60fps, but you may find it playable on native resolution with [Recommended] Speedhacks, and some EE Cyclerate. Try it out and see what you think. Smile

Did you even check the first post of this thread? The CPU is slow so only a handful of games will work at good speeds

Overclock the e6300 (if you dare or know how Wink )and you get good fps in games. I have a e6300 too and it's clocked at 3.73Ghz.

You do realize you're telling him to attempt a 100% overclock, right? He has a 65nm Core 2 Duo Conroe (7x266) - not a 45nm Pentium Wolfdale (10.5x266).
