SLI is only useful for PC gaming and/or any rendering software that support SLI. It doesn't work for emulation. If you're going to pay $250 for a 9800, might as well buy a GTX260. Most of them costs less than $200 and can perform much better than 9800.

Except if a 9800 costs $250 where he lives, then a GTX 260 will probably cost $300+.

Which is why he should get it online from somewhere else. Even with high shipping costs it should be cheaper.

I understand why you don't want to buy online, but paying $176 for a 9500gt is really too much. With this amount of money, you can at least buy a 9800gt +shipping. There are quite a lot of big shopping sites that provide pretty good after service such as exchanging, refund, etc. Those services may take times, but you will get what you want eventually.

I really recommand you to try to buy it online, or at least take a look at some big shopping sites such as amazon.com, tigerdirect.com. I have bought my whole pc from tigerdirect and some games etc from amazon, and I paid through credit card and paypal which are quite safe and simple in terms of refund and payment. Once you have placed an order, they will provide a tracking number so that you know when to expect your order and where is your order at. Those big websites have really spent quite a lot to make their customers feel more comfortable shopping online, so the concerns you have will very unlikely to happen if you buy it from some big trusted shopping sites.

You don't want to end up disappointed after spending lots of money on a new computer, so please do think about it.

How about an ebay like site? mercadolibre is what's used here and you dont actually have to buy online just meet up with the organization/person selling products or go to their shop or wtv, I'm pretty sure you can get cheaper/better stuff that way. Still try to not go lower than 9600/9800gt

RE: Suggestions about new to come Cpu/gfx card
ok shadow lady i almost forgot mercadolibre heeh gonna check that place, but only for new graphics card nothing already in use.
Edit:
i already checked mercadolibre and for my surprise the prices are lower than i expected so lets see:
>>nvidia Geforce Xfx 9500gt 1gb ddr2 Pci-e <<<<costs 99 dollars
>>nvidia geforce 9600gt 1gb ddr2 pci-e <<<costs 134 dollars
>>Nvidia Geforce 9800gt 512mb Ddr3 pci-e <<<costs 152 dollars
So i think maybe i should go for the 9600 but, WTF the 9800 is ddr3 so i think is better isnt it?
And what about the cpu no one answered
The prices are as i see:
dual core 2.5Ghz 2mb cache <<< 100 dollars
core 2 duo 2.8 1mb-2mb cache <<< 170 dollars
Does the cache means something in speed terms,i mean for games

I guess you haven't read the entire thread.

Anyway, go with the 9800 as it's only about twenty dollars more than the 9600 and way more powerful.
