I know there's a lot of threads on this already, but none of them were able to help me. Specs:

Vista Home
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60
3GB RAM
Radeon X1250

I don't expect to get great performance with my rig, but I'd at least like to see if I can run games at all. When I click "Run CD/DVD" I get the error message mentioned in the thread title. I have tried updating my DirectX to no avail, and I'm certain my graphics card supports PS 2.0. Here's my emuLog.txt:

In the pluggins section select GSdx SS2 and try again. Also when you update DX use the web installer because normal Dx updates miss dll`s that can be needed. Hope that helps

That's the plugin I've been using. I've also tried the build/plugins recommended in this thread: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-problem-w...y-X--14911

I updated DirectX, and then when it still didn't work I tried the web installer. The web installer just told me a newer or equivalent version was already installed.

Now, I just realised that I get this error when using GSdx, but ZeroGS works just fine (though as predicted, it doesn't run too well). What's the difference between these? Might I get better performance from GSdx, if I can get it working? If not, what are some tricks I could use to improve performance? The game I'm trying to play right now is FFX International (NTSC-J).

Yep that's the correct answer GSDX is like waaay more better than ZeroGS

EDIT:GSDX has ALWAYS been the better choice for ME I don't know if it works for others so anyways try GSDX u might be able to get like 25-30FPS in that game.
Try r1888 and March 2010 plugins pack IF that doesn't work try latest svn version just download it from google and compile it.

That's what I did before making this thread. I'm seriously stumped by this problem.

This may sound absolutely insane, but why don't you go ahead and take screenshots of your settings so we can see what went wrong. Tongue
Nappa: Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?
Vegeta: It's...one thousand and six.
Nappa: Wh-...really?
Vegeta: Yeah! Beat him up Nappa!
Nappa: Yay!

I think you will be stuck with windows xp (directx 9.0 mode) because your onboard igp compatibility. And seems zeroGS is the best result in fps in games rather than you use gsdx plugin.
