The Sims Bustin Out
#1
Hey guys,

I'm in a spot of bother with the PS2 game "The Sims Bustin Out"
I can run Kingdom Hearts flawlessly and fast on my computer. But with The Sims Bustin Out, the game is constantly laggy. I have an NTSC version of the game that I am running from the most recent PCSX2 emulator as an ISO file. I also have a PAL version of the iso but neither of their game play seems to be any improvement on the other.
Here are the stats for the game:
FPS:59.97
EE:51%
GS:45%
UI:0-1%

Here are my computer specs:
CPU : Intel Core i5 M 460 @ 2.53GFz (4CPUs). ~2.5GHz
RAM: 6114MB
GPU: ATI Movility Raedon HD 4670 3825 MB

Any tips or help as to improve my game performance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

the game might be VU limited, so try the MTVU speed hack in the latest Orphis build

Quick question,is an orphis build an external; download from the PCSX2 package, does that speedhack come with 0.9.8. and do you mean VU cycle stealing?

Sorry i'm completely new to the emulator.

No, Orphis builds are the only officially supported svn builds, and can be obtained from http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/

The MTVU hack is NOT vu cycle stealing.

xD
Code:
r4865
pcsx2: Implemented Threaded VU1
that is an MTVU

Anyway just get the latest from that page, then you can find MTVU in the speedhacks tab in emulation options.
