Im trying to play LOTR: The Third Age but everytime I get to battle (the transition) my fps drops to 1 and there is sound pitching. Everything else in-game runs nice and smooth, I can't figure the problem.
My specs

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5450
Memory: 6 GB
Operating System: Win 7 64

Using PCSX2 1.0.0 r5350 playing it from and .iso

I know, but I only have that peculiar problem, everything else is working fine.

Alright, I installed the version 1.2.1 r5875 and disabled speedhacks, setting to 1 and some other values but I dont see any improvement in any case. Do you have another idea what it might be?

your CPU.
as I said, it's way too weak, and won't handle some effects correctly.
Some effects my be removed by setting skipdraw to 1 (i see you already did it.
remove msaa since your GPU isn't very good either and untick texture filtering.

apart from that, not much you can do expect playing on your PS2 until you can afford a better machine

My GTX 650 has served my nicely. I only get the occasional drop to around 53fps at 3x native on Burnout 3
