I can get my game to load in fine but when I try to push a button to get the start screen it doesnt work, also it does allow me to move around on the PS2 home screen.

The information is odd, do you mean you can move around the home screen or don't?

Anyway, did you set the buttons at the controller config, Pad1?

Nevermind I fixed it turns out Lilypad doesnt work for some reason so I change it to as different one now it works great. Now I'm just troubleshooting how to maintain 60 fps when I play.

It works but you need to configure the buttons as already said, but OK, so you got it working.

Now about the speed, why don't you help us to help you telling what is the machine specs and the games you are trying to play?
