from 0.9.8, many things were rendered more accurately.
that's why most of the time, 0.9.7 versions are faster (but less accurate).

then there is a trade off between speed and quality. either it's fast and not that good looking or it's good looking but it's slow. that is a problem we all often face

More than just "good looking", it was more the idea of steps to cross from "nothing" to "playable" status.
