TotA Random Black Screens and Freeze

can anyone tell me whats going on with my TotA i dont have any speedhacks on but after a certain amount of battles you get a black screen and if you proceed the story the cutscene will go to the loading screen but freeze

im running pcsx2 on nvidia geoforce gt 640m the version of pcsx2 im using is 1.0.0 im trying to play tales of the abyss (TotA) but at certain points of the game i freeze at the loading screen or after certain number of battles i black screen after i win the battle
