Using saves on PCSX2.
#1
Hey guys. So, I wanted to use a save for Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne. And I got it set up, however, when I finished setting it up. I had to go to dinner. So I closed PCSX2, and when I got back. The save was in the memory card, however, I've still technically got the save. But I can't access it, if that makes sense. Pic related is what I mean

It looks like the memcard you see in mymc is not the same as in the ps2 bios. Are you sure you are loading the correct memcard?

That looks like a save for the NTSC version of the game. Are you sure that is the copy you have and not PAL or JAP?

Doesn't matter. This is the PS2 Memory Card manager he's looking at. PAL and NTSC saves both show up there.

He's loading two different Memory Cards apparently; one in PCSX2, and a completely different one in myMC.

The memory card for MyMC is Memory Card 1, same with PCSX2.

I hate to say this but that just doesnt seem to be possible. If the BIOS tells you there is nothing on that mem card, then it is one of the following:
1) empty
2) not the right region for that BIOS (this may not be accurate)
3) not plugged into pcsx2

Are you sure pcsx2 is set to look for that mem card in its location?

Also not to nitpick but the BIOS says that mem card is completely empty (7998 KB free) but mmc says there is 265 KB being used. Unless I am mistaken, the screenshots do not add up.

8000 KB - 256 KB != 7998 KB

The bios region doesn't matter

Start pcsx2 and go to Config=>Memory Card and see in the path is pointing the path from where you are opening the card in mymc and if the card is selected in some slot(one or two)

Region doesn't matter. Already mentioned that. Tongue

PS2's Memory Card manager ALWAYS shows Saves, whether it's PAL, NTSC-U, or NTSC-J. Same goes for myMC. They're 'managers', they're not games with specific region requirements.

These are clearly 2 different Memory Cards. One that is blank (empty), and one that contains 2 Save Files.
Like vsub said, the path in PCSX2 is leading to another path as the one that he's using to load up the Memory Card in myMC.
