RE:CV will likely run well on the i5 suggested though. at 3x I am getting 41fps, which is a rough simulation of a slower PC.

Other games I am buying is Okage, and all the .hack games.

Im just looking into something that can do the job in the top 90% for the price of a 50% computer.

basically, if we don't recommend laptops for pcsx2, there is a reason : most of actual laptops that can give you good performances a really expensive (especially if compare them to their desktop equivalents).

Dunno about okage, but .Hack games aren't very demanding and should be playable (not full speed, but still playable) with some speedhacks on a 2.5 ghz I3 with a fair dedicated GPU.
Avoid integrated GPU at all costs.

from what I remember being told..

i3 on a laptop is 2 cores, no threads (meaning 2 threads only)
i5 is 2/2 (4 threads)
and i7 is 4/4 (8 threads)

i3 is a 2 core 4 thread no turbo
i5 is a 2 core 4 thread + turbo (and probably more L3 cache)
i7 is a 2 core 4 thread + turbo in ultrabook while 4 core 8 thread in standard laptop
2 core 2 thread no turbo should be Celeron/Pentium

Not quite.
i3 is 2 cores 4 threads. (Hyper threaded) no turbo

i5 is 4 cores 4 threads. turbo (Desktop) 2 cores 4 threads (Laptop) Turbo (according to Intel's product page)

i7 is 4 cores 8 threads + more cache memory (Hyper Threaded) turbo (both laptops and desktops)

Of course this is for all 3rd Gen i(x) cpus.
