if you refer to the cpu usage in the title bar of pcsx2, then you should know that this value only shows the cpu usage of the gsdx thread and not the cpu usage of the whole emulator.

and without any info about the games you tried it's rather hard to tell, how fast they should run on your system, but keep in mind that the recommended cpu for pcsx2 is an intel core2duo @ 3.2ghz. get the latest betas of pcsx2 and gsdx, set gsdx to native and dx10[hw] (if available), run your games as isos directly from your hdd and try the speed hacks. many 2d and some less demanding 3d games might run quite good then.

Which is why your games are so slow...your processor is pretty darn slow.

Exactly. You could try to over clock if you want to 3.2ghz..... Seeing as your processor is 2.1ghz.

Mine's a intel core 2 duo 2.1ghz (sometimes 2.2ghz) and when i run most of the games iwith speed hacks, i get a pretty good fps 40-60, so you should be able to run most games with speed hacks on at near-speed or full speed.

I lol'd at the sometimes 2.2 XD
and, not really, if you compare an intel to an amd with the same clock speed the intel wins

...if I were you, I wouldn't try to oc that CPU, had one by my self, it's good, but not for this emu, it's too slow, & you won't get stable oc over 2.5GHz if you don't have good cooling on it... So better don't bother...

Cheers...

Edit: BTW, ...that what you see as CPU utilisation is actualy you speed in that game & it depends on you CPU...

that cpu is maybe weak in addition AMD is limiting your SSE technology thus it's stuck up to SSE2 considered as the main suspect why FPS so slow.
