yes, but pcsx2 evolved, became more accurate. and thus needs more raw CPU power to run games @ full speed.

Interesting reading, good to know for if I ever plan on upgrading.

Edit: So, out of curiosity, I ran their test on my computer. My STP number for my system was 1787 which is a bit higher than the listed number. And my overall CPU performance mark was also higher than the average. Definitely interesting.
CPU: i7-3940XM @ 3.00GHz (Turbo @ 3.90GHz)
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000(Integrated) and nVidia GeForce GTX 970M 6GB (Dedicated)
OS: Windows 10 Professional 20H2

Note: the way the game is written, it requires both a fast CPU and fast GPU.

I guess by today's standards my GPU isn't considered fast anymore, eh?

The game reads the framebuffer, it is slow because it requires to flush the gpu comand buffer. The faster your gpu, the less command will need to be flushed.

Hum, could you check the behavior of latest git if you disable the large buffer option? Does it flicker ?
