Wild Arms Alter Code: F & Tales of the Abyys
#1
hi all, im new in forum. but actually i've been using pcsx2 since 0.92 is out.

im wondering if anybody have same problem with me when playing:

1. wild arms alter code: f
.: black screen when battling enemies.
speed note: ~full speed

2. tales of the abys
.: sub menu is not responding to controller, and it "hang" the game completely.
speed note: ~full speed

both happen in official build and playground build with best/ latest plugins. i tou't it will be "temporary" fix in playground build. heheh... anyway, im asking you guys right now.

thanks!

I have only try Tales of Abbys, the main issue for me was the game is slow, in normal PCSX2 I got 60fps everywhere but in PP I got 40fps Blink that's a huge speed impact Sad. No crashes at all in any place Smile

For Tales of the Abyss i remember i used to set EE Rec roundmode to either chop/zero or down; either is good. This fixes the sub menus. although I thought this was fixed in the playground version, I haven't changed the EE Rec roundmode from Nearest in a long time, also you can go ahead and enable all speedhacks except EE/IOP Sync Hack x3 (causes FMV and battles to go horribly out of sync). You can also check Flush to Zero and Denormals are Zero for VU Rec in the advanced menu, that will give you a great speed up.

The controller not responding in certian menus can be fixed by setting roundmode to chop/zero ... the slow speed will also be fixed by setting flush to zero and denormals are zero.

Use r457 or later, no more problems in TotA, now you don't even need to change EE Round mode, nearest still works with menus, and I've had no crashes past Van already. Cheagle forest runs without problems, and game runs really fast even at an internal res of 1680x1050 Smile
