Will pcsx2 run on my system?
#1
I want to know if i can run pcsx2 with decent fps with my system. If so how many fps would or could i get?

Here are my specs:
3.6 GHz processor(single core)
2GB DDR2 Ram
500GB HDD (7200 rpm)
512 MB Nvidia Geforce 8800 i believe (not quite sure)

My friend got it playing at around 10-30 fps with his 2.66 single core, 4 gb ddr, 250 GB HDD, 256 MB video card computer!
If he got that i can get easily get around 40 right?

if this is a desktop it will run only by half of the speed....2D games at 3/4s,,,,3D games 1/3s of the speed.
but if this is a laptop...it will be very very slow.

Wouldn't it be way faster if you just tried it yourself? Tongue
With a single core, FPS will be horrible...except if it as hyperthreading at least. Is it a Pentium 4?

With nearly the same hardware but I had a video card with 1GB GDDR3 I could reach 25FPS on FFX. So you have a pretty good chance to reach that 40/2 FPS ingame Wink. If you want 40FPS you should consider to buy a dual core cpu.
Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7-920
RAM: 3*1GB 1600Mhz Kingmax TinyBGA
VGA: Zotac GF 250GTS 1GB
Monitor: LG 2253V-PF

Err the graphics card will have no impact on speed in his case. He is so severely CPU limited, the graphics card will mostly be idling.
