Will this emulator run on this configuration?
#1
Hi. I saw an old topic regarding this question, but over there we were encouraged to create our own topics for this manner. I'm a newbee so sorry if this is a mistake.

core 2 duo e6320
Nvidia Geforce 200 GT
2 Gb RAM

I want to buy this PC but is EXTREMELY important to me to know if this configuration is good enough for the games like PES2012, NBA Live 2k12 to run smoothly..

I will buy this computer only if it's possible to run these games without any problems, so your advice is very, very important to me.

Thank you in advance.
Kind regards, paraglajder.

No not at all, the CPU is only 1.8ghz and the GPU isnt up for the job either, do Not buy this Computer if you want to play pcsx2
Msi GF-62VR
Intel  core i7 7700hq @2.8(3.5ghz turbo) Nvidia 6gig GTX1060 16 gigs DDr5   windows 10

Damn.... Wikipeadia says:

Quote:System requirements

Windows XP Service Pack 2/Windows Vista or Linux 32bit/64bit
Core 2 Duo or AMD Phenom @ 2Ghz
GPU that supports Pixel Shader 3.0 (NVIDIA GeForce 6 series or ATi Radeon R400 series or later)
1 GB RAM

Recommended (Will run 50-60fps)
Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Linux 32/64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz or AMD Phenom 3.5 GHz or faster CPU
GPU that supports DirectX 10 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX series or ATi Radeon HD 2000 series or later)
2 GB RAM (3 GB or more if using Windows Vista or Windows 7)

I thought that in these Core Duo processors the amount of BOTH cores is calculated - 2 cores x 1,8 = 3,6 Ghz

But I guess I was wrong, huh?

As for the GPU, my apologies, the model is Geforce GT 220. (not GT200)

Nvidia GeForce GT 220

- 48 processing cores
- 128-bit memory interface with 1GB GDDR3
- DirectX 10.1 support
- 615MHz core clock
- 1335MHz shader clock
- 790MHz (1580MHz DDR) memory clock

Will this GPU do the job?

My last computer had a duo 2.03ghz with a geforce 220, and i got slowdowns on games, playable doesnt mean at full speed. I recommend getting something with an i7 quad core, something like a 2670Q at least, as for GPUs look hear and go for a first class card http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-...130.0.html

that thing in wikipedia is nearly vandalized the topic
the true recommended requirement supposed to be
for Intel-i series at 3.2Ghz,for Phenom at 4Ghz~
and a gddr5 equivalent video card e.g. 460~,560~ models for nvidia or 47xx~,57xx~,68xx~ for ATi.

you have e6320 at 1.87Ghz and can reach up to ssse3 thus you fail to meet the recommended requirement at least 3Ghz boundary-range although that processor doesn't have an sse4 and AVX to take advantage

and your video card is a ddr2 thus is "too far" for an gddr5 type video card to run decent speed at most games.

better NOT buy that PC.

The OP never mentioned anything about getting a notebook/laptop, and
from my knowledge (I didn't google this so I could be wrong) the parts
that they listed are for a desktop. I'm not saying that they couldn't go
for a notebook, but generally desktops have a better performanceTongue2rice
ratio (granted the 2670Q is far better than what the OP listed).

Secondly, considering PCSX2 (to my knowledge) only utilizes up to, two
cores and doesn't use hyper-threading; a i5 would probably be a better
choice, which is also a better choice for gaming in general. However, I
don't know what else the OP would be doing.
Link for showing performanceTongue2rice ratio, and general statistics.
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=...40+2.20GHz
(Keep in mind the software they use, utilizes hyper-threading, so i7s get
better marks)

---

Side note, when did System Requi for PCSX2 get so high? I remember a
while back I could play on my laptop with decent fps (though I needed
speedhacks and would still only average 50fps).

--Specs for my laptop
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz
Nvidia 8600M GT integrated

Aren't that bad, but don't even come close to what tallbender stated.

I say yes it will honestly. I said this in the thread 'optimizing pcsx2 for kingdom hearts play' in general support or whatever, I have a computer I with similar stats i bought at a yardsale for 5$. It ran laggy as hell for forever. but I learned tricks and changed from 1gb ram to 1.5gb ram and its fine.
lol i mean my graphics card is a geforce 6150LE it has 64mb dedicated memory....its a joke though the driver updates have done wonders.

No problem, just trying to help, not sure if the
OP has even looked back.
