Windows crash when exiting Pcsx2
#1
I have only noticed this since installing version 7600 of windows 7.
Whenever I exit a game windows explorer has locked up and has to re start.
It did not do this with the RC of windows 7.
Just thought I would post in case it is of any use to the Devs of this fine piece of software.

I tried a Windows Server 2008 R2 7600 leak (basically same as windows 7) and didnt get the same problem, is most likely a error in your installation or another software conflicting.

Any ideas what the conflict could be?
This never happened with the RC but with the RTM this happens every time I exit. No other software has been added.
I see no reason to rate this thread at all. Even less to give it one star. Not that I am saying it was you.
Just trying to be helpful.

This is the 64bit version of the RTM so perhaps this could make a difference?

Try "ESC Option" in speed hack panel. When you hit ESC automatically close pcsx2

Gave that a go but no luck. I think it is to do with the display driver. I only seem to get the crash when I leave a 3d game. I have tried a few different settings but it will always crash when I exit.
2D games do not cause the same issue.
So my guess would be its CCC not happy with the RTM.
However my games like Bound in blood and crysis don't do anything similar.

I think I was right Smile
Just found the beta 9.7 CCC and the issue seems to have been fixed. As far as pcsx2 is concerned any way.
Catalyst control center still likes to crash most of the time.

This is still happening but not every time I exit to the desktop.
It really is an odd problem.
I can't find in the event viewer what is causing the problem either Sad
