Won't read FFX disc. HELP!
#1
Sad
I purchased a FFX disc from Gamestop about 2 weeks ago and I had been playing it for a while. I then took a few day break and now I come back to try to play and I can't seem to get the disc to load. I do everything the same (select the drive using gigahertz plugin and fastboot) :/ I'm just confused because it worked perfectly fine a week ago and now I come back and didn't change a thing but it won't read the disc. This is a very fun game and I would love to finally beat it!

Here is my log of trying to boot, it just sits at the ps2 menu with browser and system configuration after going through this:

I'm assuming it has something to do with:

* CDVD: Opening drive '\\.\D:'...
* CDVD: IO thread started...
(IsoFS) Invalid partition descriptor encountered at block 0x10: ''
* CDVD: Disk Type: No Disc

but I'm just not sure why it won't read the disc in D:. It isn't scratched or anything it looks like a brand new disc. I've tried cleaning it anyways though. (And I only have 1 cd drive so I can't try others)

Please help :X

instead running directly from a disc using gigahertz
use ImgBurn make an ISO an equip using CDVDolio or Linuz-ISO.

I tried using ImgBurn to "Create image file from Disc" but everytime I selected the drive in which the disc was in it would say at the bottom "Device not ready (Medium not present - Tray closed)". I have just a regular ps2 Final fantasy X disc.

Hmm sounds like the drive is having issues reading the disc. Have you tried any other games and or discs weither they be cds or something and see if the drive can read those fine?

I do, but I don't think it's defective because I put in a few different movies and audio CD's to check and they all worked flawlessly.

edit: and I just burned an audio CD.

I don't have one.. But like I said it worked before (a week ago). And I literally haven't even taken it out of the CD drive since then. Haven't even opened the tray.

It was already locked. I just got it unlocked. I should clarify I don't *CURRENTLY* have a ps2. My brother took it with him to his school after I had gotten the BIOS. So I can't test it on a ps2 right now.
