Wondering if my computer can handle the emulator
#1
Hi all!

I've been using PSCX on my macbook for a long time now and when I learned of PCSX-2 I was super stoked! Sadly, my macbook couldn't handle it (even tho it can run Windows 7 well enough, it's old as dirt) but I just recently got a new computer! So I'm wondering if anyone knows if my computer can handle this emulator and what settings I should use? I'm mostly going to be playing RPGs and am hoping my computer can handle it...

Here are the specs for my comp:

Intel Pentium G2020
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
4GB DDR3-1600 SDRAM
1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive
16x DVDRW Drive
8-in-1 Media Card Reader
Intel HD
Dell Wireless 1506 802.11b/g/n Wireless

Thanks much!

Well, I'm wondering if maybe upgrading my video card would make a difference or not?

Getting a better video card will defiantly help then using Intel's horrible integrated graphics Smile

Buy Intel Pentium G2020 Ivy Bridge 2.9GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core Desktop Processor

just get a decent GPU and you'll be fine

sorry for interrupting.
anyway if u want to play most games on 2x native or native, stick with Intel HD.
if u have money go for New Gpu,Good Luck !!

I have a few too many games I find do not even run well at native on an Intel HD 3000.

The integrated graphics on that G2020 will do for low res with some games,
but don't expect it to handle every game.
The processor on the chip will prove more adequate, itself.

A dedicated GPU with a DDR5 data rate would be the ideal step up,
but even a DDR3 unit with the minimal 128-bit bus would handle native better.

No my Intel Hd 3000 can handle all games 2x native.
Only games i play on native are those which are already higher resolution e.g.WWE smack down vs raw 2011..which is already hd.
I play that on native.
On native it looks better also.
God Of war 1,2 on 2x native.
Other also,tekken series on native
they already looks better on native & for black vertical lines.
But if op have High resolution monitor.then he should go for dedicated gpu.
Mine is 1366x768 (60 hz)
