The fix that probably works best is using dx10 mode. So yeah, win7 rc is free Wink

Wow, FPS more than doubled in DX10! Fully playable now. Thanks to all for your help. Unfortunately, The Windows folder of Win7 is taking up 7.5GB of space, which is a bit of a problem on a 25GB partition... but PCSX2 is all good!

IF space is an issue, you could try this http://windows7news.com/2008/11/14/windows-7-lite/

Thanks; I did that originally & the install was still huge... but it's all good; I'm enjoying the OS.

BTW, if anyone is looking for a really awesome game, MGS3 is the one. I forgot how amazing it was (haven't played it in years), and with save states I can now cheat my way through very hard! Still can't decide whether this or MGS4 is better... or the original MGS... ah, they're all good!

Ick, Vista... and I was down to a 7 second startup time in XP!

Vista is pretty much a better operating system in every way, now.

has anyone tried it in windows 7?

turn off page file if you have enough RAM, or move it to a different HDD, or make it smaller.

run this in command prompt, powercfg.exe -h off

it will remove a hiberfil.sys file that is usually set to the size of your RAM and turn off hibernation. if you use it leave it on.
