Xenosaga II - cannot change disc
#1
Hello,

I am at the point in Xenosaga Ep 2 where it prompts me to change disc, but it doesn't work. When the screen pops up, I change the ISO (I choose swap disc of course) but nothing happens. Pressing start etc. does not work either, it just keeps saying "Please insert disc 2". What I noticed: When I watched Youtube videos of a playthrough, the game prompts to save the game on the MC before the change, mine does not. I have the PAL version. Clamping settings or speed hacks do not change anything.
Here is what the console says:
Code:

Yes I am using a savestate in one of the cutscenes/FMVs before the change.

It prompts to a normal save, just load from the second disk, easiest way.

It does not prompt me, after the cutscenes/FMVs, the screen with Canaans robot is shown with "Please insert Disc 2". I'll make a video, if you want.

Now you got me in doubts, I know for sure that happens in Xenosaga 3 I actually played on the emu but the 2 I played only in the console itself and not to the completion on the emu, really don't recall for the moment (I can't help but to think I got to that part in Xeno2 too, long ago and in a former emu version)... Sadly I had a HD crash recently and although it was easy to recover the images from the original disks the memcards and sstates were gone for good and I can't reproduce that point quickly.

Sorry I can't help more in a flash but I'm sure someone will come with a direct answer because I know the game is playable in the whole.

Yeah, it just seems strange, that the save windows does not pop up, since it does in the various Youtube videos, I saw...

It does show it, maybe you pressed the wrong key. Anyway try from your last memcard save.

Already tried that (beat the annoying boss 2 times -.-) but still no good. Maybe it's because I have the PAL version? It just skips that save screen altogether and hot-swapping doesn't seem to work all.

you'll probably have to use a new SVN, which has a somewhat-working disc swap feature in it. (not always, but usually does work)

Am I able to use savestates from r3113 in a new SVN? And does someone have already a compiled version of it?
