Try also adding: --vbv-bufsize 30000 --vbv-maxrate 40000

With that string and the level up to 4.1 no warnings this time, thanks =)

Gonna try to upload it when it's finished (after checking it, obviously) and report results.

RE: Youtube screws my videos
Still no good, I meant something like this :

Code:
Video
ID                                       : 1
Format                                   : AVC
Format/Info                              : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile                           : High@L5.0
Format settings, CABAC                   : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames                : 16 frames
Codec ID                                 : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC
Duration                                 : 1mn 30s
Width                                    : 1 280 pixels
Height                                   : 720 pixels
Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
Frame rate                               : 23.976 fps
Color space                              : YUV
Chroma subsampling                       : 4:2:0
Bit depth                                : 8 bits
Scan type                                : Progressive
Writing library                          : x264 core 120 r2146 bcd41db
Encoding settings                        : cabac=1 / ref=16 / deblock=1:1:1 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=10 / psy=1 / psy_rd=0.40:0.00 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=24 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=4 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=10 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=250 / keyint_min=23 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=60 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=16.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:0.60
Language                                 : English
Default                                  : Yes
Forced                                   : No
Matrix coefficients                      : BT.470-6 System B, BT.470-6 System G, BT.601-6 625, BT.1358 625, BT.1700 625 PAL, BT.1700 625 SECAM, IEC 61966-2-4 601

And honestly, Youtube these days is pretty resilient to what video with specific encoding setting they accept, above video for example has some "break-prone" setting (with subme=10 and bframes=10) yet youtube accept it no problem, to my surprise.

RE: Youtube screws my videos
I think the lack of such log is an avi/virtualdub/vwf_hack kind of issue. =S

Also, youtube was very mean to me even when I had --b-pyramid strict. Although maybe that was because I was beyond the reference frames it likes.

RE: Youtube screws my videos
get a tool to mux the video into a mp4 container. x264 in avi works in most cases but it's not generally compatible. maybe that's why youtube screws up.

Just a random thought

Do you think that maybe this is the problem(maybe I'm didn't read something from the thread).
I don't think I've ever seen a youtube video that is avi and if you are uploading the video as avi, youtube is also convert the video to mp4\flv

Same here for me. The other videos in my channel are ALL .avis (some recorded with Fraps, other with the emultors intenal recorders) and if you're willing to check, go and take a look, they're perfect.

RE: Youtube screws my videos
I would think it better to just demux the thing and re encode each track on its own. And I do remember reading about AVI being not so ideal for x264. But I suppose that's more like a possible playback issue anyway.

RE: Youtube screws my videos
the problem is x264 is open source and not all the downloadable implementations/compiles might work well with all settings. same with the video converter in this case virtualdub. i'd not even use it but the dubmod version.

the video just looks like it's got no reference frames to address. or some kinda i-info or me-info is missing that's why it's blending that weird. this mosdef a container issue and how youtube isn't able too read that format to encode. could also be an issue with the framerate conversion and that frames conatining the info gettting droppped but i think that's not a problem for the tube.
