bad allocation
#1
Hey everyone. I'm trying to use PCSX2 for the first time but I'm getting a "bad allocation" error every time after the initial configuration. I've tried deleting my inis and using different plugins with no luck.

I'm on Vista with a GeForce 9800 GTX+

Here's the log:
PCSX2 0.9.6 - compiled on Feb 27 2009
Savestate version: 8b400004
x86Init:

CPU speed = 2.535 Ghz
Cores = 4 physical [4 logical]
x86PType = Standard OEM
x86Flags = bfebfbff 0008e3fd
x86EFlags = 20100000

Features:
Detected MMX
Detected SSE
Detected SSE2
Detected SSE3
Detected SSSE3
Detected SSE4.1

CDVD Plugin CDVDbin.dll: Version 3 != 5
Plugin load failure: plugins\GSsoftdx.dll
SysLibError Message: <NULL>
SPU2 Plugin SPU2null.dll: Version 4 != 5

I've tried different CDVD plugins. I'm guessing the others are the sound and graphics plugins, I tried different ones there too.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Delete GSsoftdx.dll from your plugins folder and try again. GSsoftdx.dll is old, buggy, and support for it is discontinued. And it tends to crash things on startup. -_-

I deleted GSoftdx.dll and tried again.. no go.

Then I deleted SPU2null.dll and CDVDbin.dll and it still doesn't work. Those 3 things don't show up in the log anymore so it looks like this.

get the installer from the downloads page (but first delete your current pcsx2 files except your bios) Smile

as above, if you are using vista, also make sure you right click on pcsx2 and use "Run as Administrator"

Try this:

Go to "inis" folder in your pcsx2 folder, and delete PCSX2.ini.
