It means you need to own a PS2 where to extract the BIOS from.
Little more info on the BIOS:

You must have missed the "How to extract the bios files from your PS2" part with links there then, maybe in the FAQ too.

BIOS is short for Basic Input/Output System and it's basically a software that controls basic functions of the PS2 hardware and it's contained in a chip in the PS2, when you dump it you are just making a copy or backup of it to digital form to use as you like and it's currently necessary cause earlier attempts to emulate it within the PCSX2 program have not been successful.

BIOS = Basic Input/Output (something) basically it's the cre of what makes anything function. you know that beep you hear when your PC boots? that's the bios.
you have to extract it from your PS2 using some exploit to run homebrew code on a PS2. There's several, so have a look around. (swapmagic is one for sure, but I don't know the others off the top of my head)

you can use a pad or keyboard with any pad plugin as far as I'm aware. I used to use SSSXpad, I switched to lillypad when I needed to for a game, and found it to work just fine. My "analog" key is M, the rest is set on my pad, I've not had any issues at all.
and personally, logitech Dual action pads are only about $20us, so you should pick one up if nothing else for a much better gaming experience (just no rumble)
my Rumblepad2 is still working fine on every game I've used it on, the pad is very old. so it's not just PCSX2 that benefits from a pad, but PC gaming as well.

Just select lilypad go to the pad1 tab and press the buttons to configure it.
