blank screen at starup

hey guys. i'm new at using pcsx2 and i'm having problems with making it work. i was able to make it work on my desktop. but when i try on my laptop, i only get a black screen. i can hear the opening music, though. i tried running it with no disc, but i still get a black screen. what am i doing wrong?

pcsx2 version 'n' settings? plugins setting? hardware specs?

best guess: the laptop might lack some features that are required and thus don't really work with the integrated graphics solution. performance of midlevel laptops is another topic.

that's what i thought too, at first. but it worked fine on 2 other laptops. one with the same specs and another with a lower one. what i can't figure out is, why?

firstly, get 0.9.8, its newer and better Tongue
secondly, try updating your directx and possibly your intel graphics drivers.
