Why you just ask a question of help without give any info about your specs and plugins? This is stinky.

This is game demand high clock cpu to play in good speed, try to oc your cpu or you can take vu skip in option. Speed hack x2/x3 cycle rates, in advance option set FtZ And denormal are zero. Chop and none option in Ee recs, vu recs Mode.

One more, please to set enable native res. In gsdx option for your grapich card and take Os vista, this can give you more fps but with good gpu and directx.10 support.

He has a geforce 6600 which isnt directx 10 compatible, so he has no benefits from going vista.

With this ancient spec, what did you expected ? 200fps ?

At least 50 fps. Other games, like FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, Kingdom Hearts 2 run in hardware modus with a res of 1024 x 768 with no problems.
The intro of Dragon Quest 8 is allready fine, but when it comes to the game itself, the sound somehow gets scrambled. Are there any plugins that work better than others with this game?

Try spu-x v.1.1 or zeroSPU plugin both of two work best for this game, peopspu2 isnt good.
