ffx freeze

Hi,
Just completed the cloister trials part 1 and the game freezes after yuna declares that she's finally a summoner. I'm running the game on a mac, please help Sad

Please post the full emulog after you observed the freeze. It probably can be found in some log folder.

Which version do you use?

Do you use cheats or non-default settings?

I'm using the pcsx2 beta, no cheats, the ntsc version.

can you please give the exact version number? Is it 0.9.7 (alpha) or 0.9.6, or do you use pcsx2-ce (v. 1.0)?

The emulog is really short. Are you sure you ran the game just before you copy pasted this? Also please post the full emulog.

I've managed to get a savestate right before the freeze so the whole thing is happening during a cut scene so not entirely sure if the log would say anything because I only have a mem card save before the cloister part. The version is 0.9.6. If anyone have a save state I could use right after the cutscene that would be great actually.

Unfortunately you can not use savestates while trying to solve bugs. The bugs can be saved inside the savestate. Please try again loading the memcard save.

There are not many mac users around. I guess there will be noone having the proper savestate for you.

Sounds suspicious. Is that hack needed?


The most common problem for mac users emulating ffx is that the iso is broken. You can try reripping your game but I have the feeling that this will not solve you problem.
Therefore I would suggest you test pcsx2-ce which is a wineskin port of the windows version 1.0. 1.0 is much superior to 0.9.6.
Another possibility would be to use pcsx2 0.9.7 (alpha). I would try both and find out which is working better for you.
