i'm trying to play final fantasy x but i can not get my fps above 40 or so.
no matter what configuration i use , and its really iritating, can someone help me out?

What is your system specs? what PCSX2 version and what settings?
Core i5 3570k -- Geforce GTX 670 -- Windows 7 x64

you may try latest gsdx & pcsx2 betas, it couls help.
But keep in mind your GPU is quite weak for pcsx2

won't change anything. Your GPU is the bottleneck, here.

Use the beta, enable some speedhacks and tick "native" in GSdx not much can be done about it really.
