Why would you want to play at 30 fps when 50 or 60 is normal speed, try pressing F4 when ingame, and see if that fixes it.

fixed it indeed. arquliz, you're the best.

now, hopefully last, is there a reason when i hit new game (fatal frame 2) the screen just goes black, music keeps playing. the mem cards are loaded and all that...

try running it in software mode in GSdx 2693 (MSBC 15.00, SSE41(if SSE41 doesn't work then use the SSSE3)) and set SW rend. threads to 8.

You could also try searching the forum for a fix.

Also, on the compatibility list it says that it crashes in menus, just like you said.

If you aren't already using the latest plugins and the beta r1888 pcsx2, i would suggest you to try it
