hey, to start out, ill note that im trying to run ffx on a laptop.
it is a fairly new gaming laptop that i purchased a year ago.

i dumped a pal version of the PS2 bios.

my specs are:

CPU: iNTEL® CORE ™ i7-2670Qm CPU @ 2.20GHz QUAD CORE
RAM: 8 gigs
GPU: iNVIDIA GeFORCE GT 540m w/ 1gig of ram

when i start the game, the frame rate drops to high 20's and 30's during the opening cut-scene.

i honestly dont care too much of the quality, i just want to play ffx on smooth speeds.

Oh and im also running pcsx2 1.0

Gsdx9 on hardware, native resolution. with texture filtering.

everything else is default. no speed hacks.

I have an i5 and for some reason it runs much faster when on 1920x1080p resolution than on native. I believe the i7 works the same way the i5 does, reducing clockspeed when not needed.

Try increasing your game resolution to see if its the same...

I hope you're using vista/7 : if so, use DX10/11 hardware mode.
did you set your power plan to performance, btw ?
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

OMG it worked like a charm.

i used dx11 hardware.

custom res. at 1024 both ways

Texture filtering: check
allow 8-bit: check
edge anti-aliasing.

and this baby is running better than ever.
