how good the latest IGP perform on pcsx2?
how good do the Intel's HD2000/HD3000 on the latest Sandy Bridge CPUs perform on PCSX2? I do aware they (at least) support DX10.1, however many replies on the forum in the past suggested that IGP is a no go for PCSX2 when GPU processing power is needed(meaning using hardware instead of software mode for GSDX). Is these new models an exception?

I'm not sure because I have a P67 motherboard that has no graphics output adapter but with a 2600k, just run software mode with 6 threads.
You can comfortably run games like gran turismo 4 with software rendering in gsdx to avoid all the glitches etc.

Nothing is a true substitute to a discrete GPU. Even just pick up a cheap 6670 or something, should be plenty for pcsx2.

believe me any any onboard GPU is super weak and with time it only change from stink to bad
those are not made for gaming needs and you want to run it on pcsx2 Tongue SW mode is going to be much faster
those are made for people that don't have the money or doesn't care how powerful is the PC the important thing that it works like companies and such but they require a decent amount CPU power Smile

i7 2600K only have 4 cores ( and no HT ) how could you run it at 6 threads Huh
a good idea i have ATI 5670 and i have never encounter a GPU limitation ( so far Wink )
but it will be much much better than any onboard GPU
EDIT: sorry i misread your post i thought you had an i5 2500k Tongue

It does have hyperthreading though.

No use. Even if you have 16 cores. Dedicated GPU is faster.

Everyone on earth knows dedicated GPU is faster. My question is, how fast the GPU is needed for PCSX2. As far as my knowledge serves, the majority games of PS2 is not that system demanding for PCSX2 to emulate. And according to reviews even HD2000 is pretty close to the HD5450, and HD3000 beats it by some margin.

how fast the GPU needed to be, if we are talking about getting full FPS in 90%-95% of games that PCSX2 can emulate(ignore the speed)?I guess we dont even need a GTX560/HD6850,isn't it?

The recommended for PCSX2 is at least 8800/9600GT graphic cards, the most important thing to look for is the memory bandwidth so about 50-60GB/s for the 8800/9600GT .

The HD 2000/3000 intel chips have around 20GB/s for memory bandwidth, which would be "Ok" for native resolution in most games in PCSX2, however... besides of the hardware there's also problem with the drivers where intel ones are not nearly as good as ATI/nvidia ones and sometimes you can't even use them correctly (can't use D3D10 in GSdx sometimes depending on the drivers+hardware combination).

You'd be surprised how much that isn't true Tongue
