iOS emulation
Alright, I'm not aiming at starting anything here, I've just got a simple question. Is iOS emulation possible? I got into an argument with somebody saying that theoretically, an iOS emulator is possible, and if one did come out, it would eventually be a near 100% functional emulator. I gave up replying to him as he was quite insolent, and kept arguing like nothing of the sort has ever been done before, which clearly, it has.

I just want reaffirmation that I am right, and am not out of my mind, which happens sometimes Smile .

I figured I'd ask on a forum that's based around a project who's own developers are working and continuously make said project better. Just give me the straight answer, could it be possible, or not?

RE: iOS emulation
Anything can be emulated, but why emulate iOS?

Even if it hasn't been done, it doesn't mean it can't. If software can run on 1 system, it can run on another somehow.

RE: iOS emulation
Oh it is. My ex's dad wrote programs for the iPhone and it had a similar simulator for just that.

The bigger question is why bother?

RE: iOS emulation
I myself was just looking to make sure I wasn't going insane or something. I was just having a bad argument with someone and I told him I wouldn't waste my time replying to him anymore. He was arguing saying that an iOS emulator would never happen. I guess this a "welcome to the Internet" moment. Thank you though.

Oh, I wasn't speaking of emulating OS X, I was talking about the portable iDevices that run iOS. You don't need a Mac to develop for iOS, at least not to my knowledge. I have two Macs that are collecting dust, if I really wanted to use OS X, I'd install it on my main computer to make it a Hackintosh. Really easy to do since the new OS X releases are designed for Intel CPUs.

RE: iOS emulation
Maybe he's just saying it won't happen because there's no reason for it. The games on app store are fun because of the unique controls. It's definitely possible to play them with a controller or kbm though, look at Dolphin

hahhhahhahhhahahhahha

You don't need emulation...

I know... it works, one of my firend installed it on his desktop pc and it also works with laptop and netbook...

But be careful, because you have to set again the boot manager...

Good luck

And after the installation, if you have an account you can install apps form appstore

but i heard you can emulate with the virtuabox....
check it... Smile
