haven't been online in a while so Guys tell me what you think is it worth it compared to current rig planning on Getting a FX-4100 match it with an Asrock 970DE/US3 MOBO and some Kingston Hyper X 1600 Rams and also is the AVX in this AMD processor worthwhile for PCSX2 or its not as good as the one intel Sandy Bridges

It most likely will be a slow down

amd FX-4100 has 4 cores and 3.6Ghz. So it will be definitly faster than q6600.

The 6600 has 4 cores as well, and they all can be overclocked to 3.2ghz at least.
At that clock speed it beats the AMD healthily.

I don't think PCSX2 represents the typical integer heavy workload that BD's engineers had in mind.

BD's engineers had like 8Ghz in mind. At those speeds the IPC doesn't mean much.
Too bad the reality of physics prevents not only Intel from going there but AMD as well, lol.

I wonder how they missed Pentium 4...

I was saying between q6600 and FX-4100 that fx-4100 should be little faster based on specification. But myself would never buy AMD. Rather buy any Intel cpu at same price range.
