Too bad the reality of physics prevents not only Intel from going there but AMD as well, lol.

Nahhhhhhh we'll get there eventually, its just taking time to get the transisters small enough that the clockrate can run off a nanovolt

and then while seating your new nano-volt processor some one turns on a magnetron 2 rooms away and all those transistors fuse.... >Laugh
(just kidding, i know that couldn't happen, but really old air conditioners and vacuum cleaners do scare me a little when they get a little close to my stuff, i mean anything that makes my hair stand on end can't be good+^_^+)

the thing is this I have already talked about with her about buying a new PC and so we laid our accounts looked at it very carefully and we ended up with a very specific budget to buy my new PC with its not that I cant lie about it but It would be harder on me when she finds out about it from another person and not from me directly [thru a friend or finding about it herself when she checksout the price comparison online] so yeah guess I am stuck here so about other question since FX processors support AVX will it work on PCSX2

and also any other suggestions on what Processor I should get instead of a an FX4100 [AMD only plz]

Pick one http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-CPU-Bench...d-on-FFX-2

Apparently, i3 2100 at stock speed match Phenom II at 4.3 which in turn beat FX 8150 with two modules at 4.6 at least on that particular test.

If you won't get Intel CPU just get that FX4100. You can OC it later.

Why do you want to buy a new PC? In my humble opinion, buy a CPU for sub 50% perf increase don't worth it if you are short in money. You won't see any big speedup but you will see a hole in your bank account Tongue

nah my PC needs to be replaced anyway its not working like it used to anymore its been with me since early 2009 upgraded my CPU several times too and based upon the benchmarks stock fx-4100 still beats my q6600 on stock oand I will be overclocking my fx-4100 my current heatsink is preety decent I might hit a good OC with it and believe me when intels prices goes down enough Id get one for sure

just look at it
