I wouldn't invest any money on a pentium d computer; just get a new computer with a pentium cpu.

I used a Pentium D 2.8Ghz before and it was close to useless in pcsx2
upgraded my cpu to i3 2100 which I think around $50 and so far its paying off not only in pcsx2 but in other PC games as well

and I have been wondering... Does a good cpu decrease hard disk read times? (for game loading times like TS3, NFS, etc)

Crazy HD RPM + Slow CPU = SLOW

Insane CPU + Crap HD or heavily fragmented = SLOW
