now I'm just wondering if anyone tests games out on Linux and how it works out right now. I'm thinking of changing to Linux o test it myself but i would hate to go there to see nothing.
AM2+ 9950 2.6 (overclocked to 3.0) 512KB L2+2MB L3 cache
IBM GeForce 8600 256 DDR3 128-bit
4G DDR2 dual channel 1066 RAM

Linux builds is running well, but without GSDX you will be limited by ZZogl graphic's plugin. And number of issues with ZZogl are bigger, than with GSDX.

that's good to know thx for the info i have been trying to get allot of my games to work ok with that plugin lately bu with very little luck so i might hold off on m Linux idea maybe dual boot instead or something.
still looking forward to checking in again with the Linux build in the future.

I was trying in ubuntu 9.04 the PCSX 0.9.6 beta, but it segfaults (memory error)

The main linux patch was around r1200, than fix a lot of linux troubles (and segfault could be another VTLB error). So 0.9.6 is not good solution -- 1736 is better.
