The D2 would be best. I believe you can overclock Asus's so you can squeeze out to 3.2 ghz or so and it should run fine. Smile

Faster cpu speed = faster pcsx2. The graphics are enough I think.

Id go with the D2. more Gigahurtzz. And with light overclocking you could reach 3.0ghz easily.
My PS2 Resurrected:
AMD Phenom II x4 oc 3.4ghz
GTX 560 1gb
Western Digital 300gb hdd
4gb ddr800 kingston ram

I suppose X1 would be enough, if your playing FFX, X-2 or kingdom hearts or any easily played ps2 game on the emu. But if you want to play the more cpu intensive games (GOW 1-2, Tekken, Persona 3-4, Shadow of the Colossus etc.) on the emu I suggest getting the D2 just to be safe.

Why ask between the two if you're going to get the lesser one anyways?

so that i'll know if it would work okay in an x1 and if it won't i'll work on convincing my parents more to buy the d2 instead.

I can tell you the 2.8Ghz works fairly well even on some of the more intense games I've tried, like Tekken 5. If your willing and able to over-clock, the X1 will be fine. It could easily become the equivalent of the D2. Either way, FFX should be little to no problem.

You get the choice to choose between two, so why don't you just choose the D2 directly ? Am I right ?
