But naoan i was looking at the CPU Benchmark for PCSX2 based on FFX-2
and saw that i would get 66 fps with a i5 2500k without overclock
and 63 fps with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE overclocked to 4.0 Ghz.
I will have to overclock the i5 2500k to 5.2 ghz to get 100 fps

60fps is the speed the game was designed to be played at, why the hell would you want higher?

also going on your logic, you would have to overclock the phenom to about 8Ghz (not possible) to get 100fps, at least with the i5 it would be possible.

4GHz is highly achievable with Phenom II sure, but are you sure your cpu (which differ for each batch) could? not to mention other factor that could affect this (motherboard, ram, psu, cooling and yourself).

Just get the 2500K. Getting Phenom for emulator nowadays is is a waste of money and effort.

The emulator takes better advantage of the i5, not to mention its overall a better chip anyway, so unless you're short of money, i dont see any reason not to get the 2500k Tongue

Intel CPU's are much better than AMD. There architecture, and SSE4 intructions are there. So better get an i5 2500K.
