noob help

I have no idea where to start when it comes to running/compiling/whatever it takes to use pcsx2 on ubuntu. I'd appreciate some help in a noob-friendly step-by-step way. I mostly use my computer for internet, and ubuntu boots faster than windows so I use it, but I don't hardly do any heavy computing beyond playing a steam game once in a blue moon. I'd like to run pcsx off a USB drive I keep plugged in to my computer at all times. Can I get some help?
